Talk about completing a wish list for kitchen gadgets. That makes my 3rd salad spinner. I think think one will be a gift as is the coffee grinder.
I LOVE Goodwill and Craigslist! The past two weeks I have reaped a goldmine of great deals from both of these sources. Some items I was looking for and were planned expenses and some were not. But the ones that were not were such great deals I couldn’t help myself. Plus, they were on my personal ‘wish list’ to own one day, so now was the time.
I needed a new coffee maker and microwave and started searching Craigslist ads a few weeks ago. I found an ad from a person that was moving and was only taking personal items with them, all the kitchen stuff had to go. I would up getting a Sharp Carousel Microwave, a Black and Decker programmable coffee pot, 2 half sheet trays for baking, 2 cooling racks, 2 sets of silverware, mugs, cups and bowls, a remote control cd player for the home, AND a set of 3 Pampered Chef pots-1, 3 and 5 quart with glass lids and unscratched non stick surfaces! I’m not even going to ask you to guess how much all of this was because you aren’t going to believe me when I tell you… $30! And she tried to give me two practically new vacuum cleaners, too. I didn’t have room in the van for them! LOL…
I regularly peruse the local Goodwill stores even when I don’t particularly need anything. You never know what you may find. One time, I found a $40 Pampered Chef Stoneware piece for $6! I have been searching for a pressure cooker for over a year now. Every time they have one it’s always missing the lid thingy that controls the pressure
Today, they had two pressure cookers so I checked them out as usual. Imagine my surprise when one of them had ALL the pieces needed! I got a pressure cooker for $6!!!
But that’s not all. I got the pressure cooker for $6, another salad spinner for $2, an Igloo cooler for $2 (not pictured), a brand new target bookcase in the box-normally retailing for $40- for $16 (not pictured), a Cuisinart coffee grinder for $4, a Krups electric ice cream maker for $6, and two pairs of American Eagle slip on shoes for $6… is that everything?!?! LOL! I think I remembered it all
Looking back at the list I can’t believe everything I found! It just goes to show, if you are looking for a way to save money on the things you want/need, you will find a way.
What is your best Goodwill or Craigslist find?
